CARE GUIDE

Special Attention for Metal Accents

While all swimwear benefits from careful handling, pieces with metal accents require extra attention to maintain their beauty and longevity:

  • Immediate Rinsing: Swimwear, especially when worn in the ocean, is more prone to wear and tear. After wearing, rinse your bikini thoroughly with fresh cold water to remove salt, chlorine, and sunscreen. Pay special attention to rinsing the metal accents and the fabric around them, as any residue left behind can interact with the metal over time, causing oxidation.
  • Preventing Stains: Metal accents can degrade when exposed to seawater if not rinsed properly. This may cause the metal to lose its luster over time.
  • Restoring Shine: If stains or oxidation occurs, don’t panic! Gently clean the metal pieces with a sponge and mild detergent. Rub softly to avoid scratching, then rinse thoroughly with fresh water. This simple fix will restore the shine to your metal details.

Swims Care Tips

Rinse Immediately After Wearing: Saltwater, chlorine, and sunscreen residue can weaken fabrics over time. Rinsing your swimwear immediately after wearing with fresh cold water helps to remove these elements and prolongs the life of your piece.

Gentle Hand Wash:

  • Soak: Fill a bowl or sink with cold water and soak your swimwear for at least 20 minutes. This loosens debris and makes cleaning easier.
  • Use Mild Detergent: Add a small amount of gentle, non-moisturizing soap or detergent designed for spandex fabrics. Avoid harsh cleaning products that could damage the material.
  • Wash with Care: Gently massage the fabric, focusing on areas with heavier use, such as straps and lining. Be careful with metal details to avoid scratching.
  • Rinse Well: Ensure all soap is thoroughly rinsed out with cold water to prevent stiffness and buildup.

Dry Flat in the Shade:

  • Lay Flat: Place your swimwear on a clean towel and lay it flat to air dry indoors or in a shaded area.
  • Avoid Wringing or Hanging: Never wring your swimwear, as this can stretch the fabric and damage the elastic fibers. Hanging can also cause distortion, especially in delicate or embellished pieces.
  • Avoid Machine Washing: Machine washing, even on a delicate cycle, is too rough for swimwear. The agitation and harsh detergents can weaken the fabric and damage special features like metal accents.
  • Store Properly: Once dry, store your swimwear in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent fading and deterioration. Avoid folding metal-accented pieces in a way that could stress the details.
